Dear all, We recently applied for the IET Innovation Awards competition under 3 categories and I am now delighted to let you know that the entry entitled "Novel and advanced phased array ultrasonic system for the volumetric inspection of aluminothermic rail welds" has been selected as a finalist for the Transport category over 400 entries. The IET Innovation Awards celebrate the products, technologies and processes that lead the way in engineering innovation. Spanning 15 categories, the Awards are judged by engineering experts and recognise the depth and breadth of innovative work being carried out across all areas of engineering and technology. The ceremony will be on the 9th November 2011 in London and hopefully the RAILECT system will win the title. To be followed...

Dear Railect colleagues, all presentations and documents from the 27th month meeting have been uploaded on the member area of the website. The video of the final demonstration will be shown on the 20th January during the final review meeting.

All the presentations and technical reports up to date have been uploaded on the RAILECT website. The project meeting held at Barrow Hill Railway Centre on the 26th July 2010 included some preliminary field trials with the Railect prototype. The pictures of the demonstration will be on the website very shortly.
